St. Patrick's Day Limericks

Welcome bloggers. At school today, we celebrated St. Patrick's day by creating some old fashioned limericks. We would love to see more creative limericks. So, please post some of your own limericks in the comments sections. Don't know what a limerick is? Click the work limerick and it will take you to 'How to Write a limerick' by Bruce Lansky on the website Giggle Poetry. Enjoy! And as always, thanks for sharing!!!

  1. There was a mean teacher name Troy,
He took a small fifth grader's toy,
    He put it away,
For the rest of the day,
To the student that did not bring joy.

There's my first attempt of a limerick. I can't wait to see what others come up with. Please remember to "reread" your comments before posting.

There once was a young lad named Josh

    One day he said "Ick!"
Then got hit by a stick

There once was a man named Troy
    Writing brought him great joy
    "I'll never stop"
    He said with a hop
He started when he was a boy

  5. Great work Josh, Amanda, and Nicole! Thanks for taking the time to post on this St. Patrick's Day. I hope you enjoyed creating them as much as I did reading them. I've got one more in me before heading off to do some reading. It's a limerick that uses my father's name, but may not totally be true. Thanks dad for the inspiration!

There was a smart teacher named Mark,
His bite was worse than his bark,
    Graduated from college,
    With lots of great knowledge,
And loves to run in the park.

There once was a young girl named Sue
She was very afraid of hot glue
    But she had to connect
    Something for a project
So she moved to a place called Peru
